Unpaid Repair and Maintenance (R&M) charges of a current tenant may be sent to a collection agency.
Procedures:
Tenants will be given 30 days from the date of the bill to file an appeal with the Property Management Committee.
After an R&M charge is owing for sixty days from the date of the bill, or 30 days from the date of an unsuccessful appeal, a letter is to be sent which warns that the account may be sent to a collection agency and registered with the Credit Bureau.
The Rental and Maintenance Managers are to be consulted regarding the accounts.
Registration with the credit bureau must be approved by the Finance Manager.
