Unpaid Repair and Maintenance (R&M) charges of a current tenant may be sent to a collection agency.

Procedures:

  • Tenants will be given 30 days from the date of the bill to file an appeal with the Property Management Committee.
  • After an R&M charge is owing for sixty days from the date of the bill, or 30 days from the date of an unsuccessful appeal, a letter is to be sent which warns that the account may be sent to a collection agency and registered with the Credit Bureau.
  • The Rental and Maintenance Managers are to be consulted regarding the accounts.
  • Registration with the credit bureau must be approved by the Finance Manager.
