Position Summary

The Tenant and Community Engagement Assistant will provide administrative support to the TCE Department.  There will be a strong focus on working closely with the department to support outreach activities and represent CCOC in the community.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Writing editorial content and copyediting for a wide range of communications channels (e.g.: newsletters, blog, website copy, posters);
  2. Executing email campaigns, including event invites and newsletters;
  3. Supporting with basic design and layout of communications materials, PowerPoint presentations, social media assets, posters and notices;
  4. Supporting with general administrative tasks and record management.
  5. Entering various department data into database as required;
  6. Representing CCOC at building outreach events and community events;
  7. Performing general office duties including but not limited to, word processing, photo-copying, mailing, filing etc.;
  8. Providing excellent customer service to CCOC tenants.

Performs other duties as requested by the Department Director or the Executive Director.

This position supports the work of Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation, and Cahdco (Centretown Affordable Housing Development Corporation).

The individual will be expected to conduct themselves in accordance with CCOC’s Mission and Values, as well as the core competencies of DEI, Service Excellence, Teamwork, Results-Orientation and Adaptability, which form an integral part of CCOC’s Performance Management Program.

Education and Experience

  • Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with website management, content management systems or event planning is a strong asset
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal;
  • Knowledge of French or additional languages considered an asset
  • Experience providing excellent customer service
  • Good aptitude for problem-solving
  • Six (6) months of related experience in customer service, administrative, or equivalent work or volunteer experience is required

Working Environment

  • Normal office environment; periods of light physical activity (for example, intermittent sitting, standing or reading)
  • Some degree of physical skill and coordination required (for example; basic keyboarding)
  • Comfortable physical working environment
  • The incumbent may be exposed to some level of stress
