At CCOC, we believe that tenants should have a voice in shaping the policies and practices that affect their homes and communities. That’s why we’re excited to introduce CCOC Circles — a new, low-barrier way for tenants to get involved and speak directly to decision makers at CCOC.
As part of our ongoing governance renewal process, we ran tenant focus groups earlier this year to understand how tenants feel about getting involved. The message was clear: while many tenants want to share their thoughts and experiences, not everyone can commit to joining the Board or a committee. This echoed what we heard in the 2024 Tenant Satisfaction Survey — tenants want opportunities to contribute without having to make long-term commitments.
What Are CCOC Circles?
CCOC Circles are open gatherings where tenants and CCOC employees come together to talk about specific topics, policies, or issues that impact tenants. They’re designed to be flexible and accessible:
- Open to all CCOC tenants (no CCOC membership required)
- No ongoing commitment — attend when the topic interests you
- An advisory space — where tenants can share input and collaborate on solutions to inform CCOC decisions
Circles will include relevant decision-makers from CCOC, so your voice will be heard directly by the people who help shape our work. After each Circle, we’ll report back on what we heard and what actions we’re taking — so you’ll always know how your input makes a difference.
How Topics Are Chosen
Circle topics will be based on:
- Priorities identified in the Tenant Satisfaction Survey
- Suggestions from tenants during previous Circles
- Urgent or emerging issues raised by CCOC employees
Upcoming topics will be announced in NewsNotes, and in the following month we’ll Circle Back in the NewsNotes with updates on what came out of the meeting.
What to Expect
Each Circle will be a respectful, solution-focused space where:
- Everyone sticks to the topic
- All voices are heard and valued
- Feedback is constructive and collaborative
CCOC will share information ahead of time to help you prepare, and will make sure the right staff are in the room to answer questions and consider feedback seriously.
We’re excited to launch CCOC Circles as a new way to hear from you — our tenants — in a more flexible, open, and inclusive way. Whether it’s your first time joining a CCOC event or you’ve been involved for years, we hope you’ll consider attending a Circle and adding your voice to the conversation.
Keep an eye on NewsNotes for upcoming topics and meeting dates!
